CEREC Same Day Crowns

CEREC same-day crowns are a modern way to repair a damaged or broken tooth in just one visit. Traditional crowns usually require two or more visits because a lab must fabricate the crown and return it. With CEREC technology, your dental provider uses digital tools to make the crown right there while you wait.

First, a tiny camera scans your prepared tooth and nearby teeth. This creates a 3D image that replaces old-fashioned putty impressions. The computer then uses this digital model to design your crown to fit your bite and look natural.

Once the design is ready, a milling machine carves the crown from a solid block of strong ceramic material. After polishing and checking the fit, the crown is permanently bonded to your tooth. Because everything happens in the same place, you don’t need a temporary crown or a return visit for placement.

CEREC crowns are strong and look like natural teeth. The ceramic material is stain-resistant and made to blend in with your smile. Most people can return to their normal activities right after treatment.

Post-Operative Instructions

Right After Your Appointment

Wait until the numbness is gone before eating. Biting down while numb can lead to accidental injuries to the cheeks, lips, or tongue.

In the first day or two, your tooth might feel a bit sensitive to hot or cold. This is normal and should gradually improve.

It’s okay to eat soft foods like yogurt, applesauce, or mashed potatoes while your mouth adjusts. Avoid very hard or sticky foods at first.

Daily Care

You have to brush your teeth gently twice a day. To brush your teeth, use a toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste.

To care for your crown teeth, floss carefully & clean your gum area regularly.

To soothe the gums if necessary, rinse with warm water and salt in the ½ teaspoon warm water salt cup.

Watch For

The proper treatment depends on the depth and severity of the crack.

Sharp or persistent pain that doesn’t get better in a few days.

Your bite feels uneven after the numbness is gone.

The crown feels loose or comes off.

If anything seems unusual or painful, contact your dental provider. With good care, CEREC same-day crowns can protect your tooth and help you smile with confidence for many years.
